Abstract

Banking, the blood of any economy, recorded strong growth over the last 5 years in Indonesia, particularly in terms of the volumes of funds collected. The purpose of this research is to examine the indicators of banking, banking technology indicators namely Bank Indonesia-Real Time Gross Settlement (BI-RTGS), industrial sector and services in the Indonesian economy as measured by the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This study uses time series data covering 2000 (fourth quarter) to 2014. Testing of time series data using the unit root test and co-integration test, indicated that variables were not stationary at the current level and that the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) can be applied provided that there is co-integration. The results showed that the GDP responded positivelyto shocksarising from third party funds, assets and BI-RTGS. Negative response was indicated by the loan variables, industry and services. An analysis of variance decomposition indicated that the third party fundshad the largest percentage contribution compared with those attributable to five other variables.

Abstract

This paper examines the effect of perceived value and service quality on brand trust directly and indirectly through customer satisfaction. Brand trust can be defined as the relationship between consumers and the corporate that is based on trust and reliability of its performance. Questionnaires were given to guests of three-star hotels in Malang, Indonesia, with 158 surveys returned and 114 valid responses were analyzed. Reliability and validity were examined first, and partial least squares (PLS-SEM) analysis was performed to evaluate the determinant coefficient (R2), predictive relevance (Q2), and effect size (f2). Results showed customer satisfaction partially mediates perceived value on brand trust, and fully mediates the relationship between service quality and brand trust. Future research in other developing countries, against different hotel class, with international guests, is recommended. Managerial implications were discussed.

A questionnaire given to tourists who visit one of the farrest island in western part of Indonesia, Sabang Island and using sampling through the convenience sampling. A structural equation model (SEM) test with WarpPLS 3.0 was used to test the relationship between research variables. This research gathered from 150 respondents. The empirical results from PLS-SEM showed that; the destination image positive affect e-WOM and revisit intention; service quality affect e-WOM and revisit intention; e-WOM positive affect to revisit intention tourists. The implications and future research issues were discussed.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the growing trend of outward foreign direct investments (OFDIs) from developing countries to developed countries. Market-seeking and strategic asset explorations are the main motivations for conducting OFDIs in developed countries. Meanwhile, cross-border greenfield investments and cross-border mergers and acquisitions are the main entry strategies used by developing countries when penetrating the developed markets. Finally, this paper reveals mixed results about the explaining ability of John Dunning’s International Development Path (IDP) theory on the patterns of selected developing markets' OFDIs to developed countries. On the one hand, China’s OFDIs follow the paths in the IDP theory. On the other hand, those of India do not confirm so.
